Re: 5 pro-Iran militants killed in US airstrikes near Iraq-Syria border
Who is a “militant?” Your headline speaks of the killing of “militants” but your article mentions the death of at least one child and also mentions civilian deaths. Once “militant” is defined, please explain how a child can be included in the definition.
Helpful, too, would be a citatation to a rule of war or of law that authorized the attack, and whether any party is contemplating a complaint and before whom such complaint might be brought.
Without such clarifications, I worry that the kill logic that prevailed here might not be mimicked by a similar kill logic prevailing to justify murder/attacks in any NATO or EU affiliated nation or in Paris, London, Berlin, NYC, DC, LA, Chicago, Juneau, Ottawa, etc. etc. etc.
Since safely musing about such matters, which are clearly abstractions and cannot possibly affect me in any way, wherever I and my family live, permit me to hazard further, whether any US “allies” such as Iraq or Saudi or Egypt or Turkey or Nauru or Afghanistan or Chad were consulted or even forewarned.
A MEE advice column could be helpful, too. Assuming my Prez has one already, ought I skip working in the garden today, and build a bomb shelter instead?
